THE UnSelfie PROJECT

The UnSelfie Projects benefit the community. UnSelfie Projects can be physical building projects, but they also can be lifting up a suffering teammate. The goal of the UnSelfie Project is to divert the focus away from oneself, and widen the lens to the world.

Kenyan Schools Project

"The sun does not forget a village just because it is small"

- African Proverb

This summer Alex will be teaching at a primary school in Iten, Kenya which lacks many resources we take for granted such as running water and electricity. Many residents of Keiyo district where Iten is located live in absolute poverty. Causes include inadequate infrastructure, HIV/AIDs, low agricultural productivity, poor marketing systems, illiteracy, inadequate educational facilities, cultural practices, discrimination and disability. Many families lack basic school supplies required for their children to attend school or require the children to work to afford these supplies. The goal of the Kenyan Schools Project is to raise money for these schools, students and families and allow education to be affordable. Kenyan Schools Project consists of multiple events that raised a significant amount of money for these schools.
